Plant for combustion of biomass and utilization of hot combustion gases for thermal drying of biomass.

In this installation, the hot gases from a biomass combustion chamber are directed to a rotary axis kiln. The drying capacity is 2,300 Kg/h of biomass from 45-50% wet to 6-8%. It incorporates the regulation of inlet air and gases to the dryer and recirculation of hot gases to increase the energy efficiency of the process. Subsequently, the dry biomass will be used for the lime  manufacturing processes.

The installation consists mainly of combustion chamber of  2,500,000 kcal/h with a horizontal  fixed  grate, subterm model, suitable for different types of biomass, automatically fed, gas distribution chamber, rotary kiln with rated evaporation capacity of 2,300 l/h of water and particle collection system  with a cyclone unit.

This project has replaced the fuel plant, and is now able to use biomass instead of fossil fuels to generate heat energy. This change in fuel has meant a substantial annual savings for the customer and a reduction in greenhouse gases emissions.
