The systems or combustion chambers by means of a mobile grate are among the most used today, above all due to their long endurance, versatility and guarantees offered by the design and manufacture of these systems. The combustion systems are a key element for the heat generation and application process. At INNERGY we have more than 50 years of experience designing, manufacturing and commissioning combustion systems for a wide variety of fuels, among which we find different types of biomass, complex biomass and waste.
The mobile grate combustion system with biomass is, broadly speaking, a technology developed to work with fuels where humidity or ash present important values, it is also recommended in processes where high availability of the plant is required.
The mobile grate is, more specifically, the main part of the combustion chamber, where the process of burning solid fuels takes place, whether it is biomass or waste. The mobile grate is constituted mainly by a set of cast iron grates with a high chromium content, which allows to guarantee a long durability of the same. These grates located on a structure, are arranged in rows and move alternately through the action of a hydraulic group. This movement allows the fuel to move and spread homogeneously along the entire surface for optimal combustion. This grate surface is known as combustion surface and its sizing is key for an adequate generation of energy. That is why each mobile grate is designed and manufactured at INNERGY according to the project.
The mobile grate is located inside the combustion furnace, just before the body of heat recovery in the form of thermal oil, water or steam, to which all the heat generated by the biomass or waste yields. This combustion furnace is made up of a sufficiently sized metal structure and covered with refractory brick with a high content of alumina for a long service life.
The choice of the configuration that the mobile grate will have is made in each case according to some particular criteria, highlighting the function of the characteristics presented by the biomass or waste used, or following the project requirements and customer demands.
Among the possible configurations of the mobile grate are the following:
Can reach powers up to 16,000,000 kcal/h. (18,600 kW)
Only requires a base suitable for its weight
AUTOMATIC SYSTEM TO INTRODUCE THE FUEL
AUTOMATIC WET ASH EXTRACTION SYSTEM
Safety in combustion and chamber sealing
INTEGRATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT
In facilities/plants with PLC and touchscreen
AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM
Automatic control of %O2 in the chamber
COMBUSTION AIR IMPELLER
With frequency variator
AIR AND GAS CIRCUITS
Designed to achieve optimised efficiency, reduced emissions and greater use of the combustion area
Adaptation to special requirements. Other voltages and electrical frequencies for different countries
Grate coupled independently to the chamber. Grates made of chromium cast iron. Assembly alternating by rows, one fixed and one mobile.
Hydraulic drive, variable in accordance with the heat required.
Special recombustion grate: reduction in unburned items
The moving grate uses different fuels, including sawmill waste, bark, chips, shavings, all kinds of forest waste, prunings, pomace, manufacture surpluses, waste, etc., as well as any timber residue. Even those which may produce slag in combustion can be used, allowing various grain sizes and humidities
Between the chamber and the chimney
Reliability of performance
Ideal for a wide range of fuels
NOx, CO and TOC low combustion techniques
Very low maintenance costs
Reduced assembly time
Automatic fuel loading
Automatic discharge of ashes
Fewer moving parts = Less maintenance
