ELECTROTERM® power stations make best use of the chemical energy available in biomasses in order to jointly generate electricity and heat for multiple applications. These plants consist mainly of a combustion chamber, thermal oil boiler and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) module. Their operating principle is based on the following steps:

  1. Biomass combustion to generate hot gases to heat the thermal oil
  2. This hot thermal oil is used to evaporate the organic fluid in the ORC module, which drives the turbine and produces electricity through a generator
  3. The exhaust steam from the turbine is condensed using cooling water, bringing the cycle to a close
